#1: "There, But For the Grace of God, Go I"
This first AHA! Moments video tells the story of an SA member who has a sobering realization while visiting a friend in prison. Through narration, sound, music, and visuals, it turns a simple recovery story into a sharp reminder of gratitude, humility, and “there, but for the grace of God, go I.”
#2: Joe Starts a Meeting
This is not an official SA video. "Joe Starts a Meeting" is the 2nd installment of "Aha Moments", ESSAY Magazine's new video series. Different from our first video (about visiting a fellow member in prison), this one is an explainer video, showing specifically how one member started a meeting. If you'd like more information about how to start a meeting in your area, be sure to watch "Joe Starts a Meeting" and then contact SA's Central Office to get you in touch with the right committees.
#3: Best Friends
The third video in our "Aha!" Moments series, "Best Friends" tells about a wonderful surprise that was discovered by one member in early sobriety. An unexpected and spontaneous best friendship evolved one day, when he decided to invite someone very special to play with him at the park.
#4: The Joy of Service
The fourth video in our “Aha!” Moments series, “The Joy of Service" tells how one member made a powerful-- yet simple-- connection between how much certain members were filled with joy... and how they viewed the importance of their service to the newcomer.
#5: The Angry Therapist and the Oreo
Our video series continues with this story about a member who is confronted by a bitter mental health professional regarding SA's sobriety definition. In response, the member's defense utilizes other 12 Step Fellowships along with a surprising— and inoffensive— little cookie.
#6: Being There
The last in our "Aha!" Moments video series, "Being There" is the story of how one member stays sober while travelling... hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles around the world!
